As part of Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience series, the pair has recruited Jennifer Aniston (as Blair) along with Gabrielle Union (Tootie), Allison Tolman (Natalie) and Kathryn Hahn (Jo). Ann Dowd, who will also appear in the live reenactment of Diff’rent Strokes on the same night, is set to play Mrs. Garrett.
“I cannot imagine a better group … and I can’t wait to do their hair,” joked Kimmel, who announced the news on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The Facts of Life recreation will air Dec. 7 on ABC, where it will be paired with previously announced recreation of Diff’rent Strokes. The latter will also star John Lithgow and Kevin Hart as Mr. Drummond and Arnold, respectively. The TV event will see Lear return to executive produce and host alongside Kimmel. Also exec producing: Kerry Washington, Will Ferrell, Justin Theroux, Brent Miller and Jim Burrows, who, with Andy Fisher, will direct the night’s double-header.
The Live In Front of a Studio Audience franchise got its start in the spring of 2019, when a coterie of A-listers — including Woody Harrelson, Viola Davis, Jamie Foxx and Martin Short — re-created memorable episodes of Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons. Later that same year, he and Kimmel, in partnership with ABC and Sony Pictures Television, produced a second installment featuring another episode of All in the Family along with a re-creation of Good Times. The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes marks the third.
Fittingly, both The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes were originally produced by Lear’s Tandem Productions, with the former spun off from latter. Mrs. Garrett is the through line, becoming a dorm housemother at an all-girls school in New York, which Blair, Tootie, Natalie and Jo attend. The Facts of Life, which ran from 1979 to 1988, was created by Dick Clair and Jenna McMahon.

Jennifer Aniston is launching her own beauty brand, having recently revealed to fans that she was working on a new project.
The Friends star had posted pictures of herself taking part in a photoshoot on Instagram, and added the cryptic caption: “Something’s coming.”
She tagged an Instagram account which was called LolaVie, and the public trademark for LolaVie suggests that she is about to debut a line of beauty products. According to documents obtained by Page Six, an application was filed to trademark the name “in the areas of face and body lotion, shower gel, candles and hair care” in July 2019.
LolaVie’s Instagram account features three uploaded images, including one of Aniston with her hair in her hands, another of a bamboo in a vase on top of a pile of books, and one featuring the caption: “09.08.2021”, alluding to the likeliness that the line will be released next Wednesday (September 9th).
This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.
Aniston fans might recall that LolaVie was the name of the perfume the she released back in 2010, previously telling the LA Times of the original name choice: “It’s a long story and honestly it’s too personal to tell, but it has a special significance.”
The actress often shares her skincare routine and wellbeing habits, and co-founded her own haircare brand Living Proof in 2012, which she later sold to cosmetics giant Unilever, WWD reports.
She also holds the title of chief creative officer at Vital Proteins and has been the face of skincare line Aveeno since 2013.
Aniston joins fellow celebrities Hailey Baldwin and Ariana Grande who are also launching their own beauty brands this year.

Jeremy Garelick has been set to direct a sequel to Murder Mystery, with the expectation that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler will reprise in the Netflix film. There is a script by James Vanderbilt, and Garelick will do a polish. The fast tracked film will shoot in Paris and the Caribbean.
Sandler played a cop and Aniston his wife in the original film, in which they went on vacation and got framed for the murder of an elderly rich guy.
Garelick scripted The Break-Up, which starred Aniston and Vince Vaughn, and he made his debut as director with The Wedding Ringer, the comedy that starred Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. Garelick has been focused on building American High, a production company he co-founded with Mickey Liddell’s LD Entertainment, to make a series of provocative teen comedies. They acquired an abandoned school in Syracuse, with the goal to make reasonably priced comedies like John Hughes did, with teens navigating a most tumultuous time in their lives.
Garelick and American High got started with several films that included the Vince Vaughn-directed The Binge for Hulu, and the Pete Davidson-starrer Big Time Adolescence for Hulu and Neon. American High recently wrapped production on the Hulu comedy Sex Appeal, starring Mika Abdalla and Jake Short, marking the directorial debut of Talia Osteen. Upcoming, he will go into production on an untitled comedy directed by Sammi Cohen and starring Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho. Garelick also recently produced The Ultimate Playlist Of Noise for Hulu, starring Madeline Brewer and Keean Johnson.
Garelick is repped by UTA and Morris Yorn.

While taping of the Friends reunion special for HBO Max has been delayed once again by the COVID-19 pandemic, Jennifer Aniston remains resolutely optimistic.
Speaking to Deadline via phone after the news broke, she said, “It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re suck with us for life guys.”
The unscripted special was originally set to shoot mid-March. But when COVID shut down all production, it was pushed to May, aimed to coincide with HBO Max’s launch on May 27. As of today, there is now no set date.
“Unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again,” Aniston said. She is, however, looking forward to getting back to it when it’s safe to do so. “It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences?’ This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”
In the special, Aniston will be joined by fellow Friends stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, and the show, directed by Ben Winston, will be shot on the series’ original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. lot. With the cast and creators Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane executive producing.
Unsurprisingly, 2020 has not been Aniston’s favorite year in general. “I’m supposed to renew my drivers license and I don’t want it to say 2020 on it,” she said. “I just want to get 2020 out and behind us.
